Leave no empty space in a box that is packed. Use old newspaper, packing paper, or Styrofoam pellets to fill the voids so the box is strengthened for stacking.
Use protective bags on mattresses and box springs. Tie bed rails together and put any hardware in a plastic bag and tape it to the bed rails.
If parking an auto, RV, boat, etc., plan to cover it securely to protect it from the elements if you choose outdoor storage.
When storing lawn and garden equipment, drain any fluids prior to storage in order to prevent corrosive damage.
Clean all appliances thoroughly before storing. Drain all water and leave doors slightly ajar to prevent mildew.
Consider standing large pieces of furniture on end. Use plastic, pads, or cloth to protect furniture.
Utilize the height of your container to maximize 'cubic feet' usage.
Heavy items should be packed in small boxes for easier lifting.
Secure the container with a strong commercial grade lock.
Store expensive items toward the back of your space.
Remove table legs when possible to maximize space.
Label boxes on at least three or more sides.
The following size estimations will help you determine the amount of space you may need to store your belongings. Although we have over 18 different unit sizes, these are the most popularly requested. Should you have further questions, please contact the office to speak to Melody or Marcia. They'll help you determine the size space you'll need. All unit sizes are approximate. Ceiling height throughout our facility is approximately 12 feet.
We have space for auto parking (20 ft.) and we can accommodate recreational vehicles, boats, trucks, and trailers up to a maximum of 30 ft. in length.
Our 5X5 unit is 25 sq. ft. It's similar to a large square coat closet. It will hold 1 or 2 small pieces of furniture and numerous totes or boxes properly stacked.
Our 5X10 unit is 50 sq. ft. About the size of a large walk-in closet. It will hold several small furniture pieces, mattresses and box-springs, other small items and boxes, or business supplies and records, etc.
Our 10X10 unit is 100 sq. ft. About half the size of a small garage. It will hold the contents of an average 1 or 2 bedroom apartment, 2 or 3 appliances, furniture, boxes, filing cabinets, small commercial inventory, etc.
Our 10x15 unit is 150 sq. ft. About 2/3rd's of a small garage. It will hold the contents of a large 1 or 2 bedroom apartment or house, appliances, boxes, or moderate commercial inventory.
Our 10x20 unit is 200 sq. ft. A narrow one-car garage. It will hold a 2 to 3 bedroom house with major appliances, any size boxes and is also excellent for business storage, commercial inventory, files, equipment and records. Also, great for your classic auto!
Our 10x30 unit is 300 sq. ft. A narrow one-car garage plus storage. It will hold a 4 to 5 bedroom house with major appliances, garage contents and any size boxes. It is also excellent for business storage, a sizable commercial inventory, files, equipment and records. Also, great indoor storage for your small boat, classic auto, or any other mid-sized recreational vehicles such as an ATV.
